A festival dedicated to the ‘Marrone del Montefeltro’, a prized variety typical of the area, already included in the National List of Traditional Products.

As a niche product, it is characterised by a rather limited production, which contributes to its status as a traditional product according to the current definition.

The presence of centuries-old chestnut groves attests to its cultivation since the Middle Ages, thanks to the presence of monastic orders.

On sale at the festival are ‘ballotte’ (boiled in water) and ‘caldarroste’ (roasted using a perforated pan over hot coals), as well as sweets and focaccia, and first and main courses in which they are key ingredients.

Throughout the festival, visitors will be able to admire Talamello’s artistic heritage:
- the Crucifix from the Giotto school, dating from the 1300s;
- the “Cella” with frescoes by Antonio Alberti da Ferrara from 1437;
- the Gualtieri Art Gallery – “The Splendour of Reality”, comprising 50 paintings that the Talamello-born painter Fernando Gualtieri donated to the local council.
